In support of IFS #8 — in churches
Part of a series in support of Internal Family Systems
The following will make more sense if you read #7.
An ecumenical Christian approach may be easiest to understand this way: ecumenical Christian approaches strive for a better balance of male~female intelligences.
Some readers of this will already understand many, not all, problems of traditional churches of every denomination, is one-sided, male-centric, paternalistic thinking and traditions. Any church promoting one-sided thinking is being left behind as Cultural Creatives of all ages progress to two-sided thinking, right and left brain intelligences working cooperatively as partners, as teammates.
The phrase “whole-brain” is useful here. Ecumenical Christian approaches I’ve known, all aim for a better whole-brain balance, even if they do not use this term.
Ideally in more balanced churches, neither feminine nor masculine values- dominate exclusively. The tendency for Patriarchal male-thinking to dominate-suppress feminine values, genius, intelligence of healthy connection, cooperation, and collaboration, has to be called out and re-aligned. If not? No better futures can emerge for the 99%.
