Messages from the Body on prostate problems

“Masculine shame” ~ They are plagued with unconscious emotional conflicts. They are overly self-contained and lonely.

They bought “the whole nine yards” of the Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, John Wayne masculine role (all died of cancer). They highly honor and subscribe to self-sacrificing masculine solidity. They believe in “getting the job done” no matter what the cost to their feeling alive.

Many men are tracked into the above by being thrust into the masculine role by both parents. First, their mother may have wanted a “man she could be proud of.” Later, they may have modeled themself on their father who was a flag-carrier for the self-sacrificing patriarchal status quo. In this way, they learned to hide their tender and needy feelings altogether. Emotionally, this is how many men become overly self-contained.

If they are lucky, later in life, they realize they paid by repressing heartfelt partnering with their own child within (self-connection). The cost is paid in feeling isolated — and — lack of trust, safety and partnership with their own inner child. [To partner with the Beloved, first learn to partner with your own basic self].

There is a significant amount of fatigue. They may be afraid their purpose in being here is already over. They may have difficulty expressing and releasing old, corrosive beliefs and self-imposed limitations. On unconscious levels, this may be coupled with a feeling of breaking down; and, giving up. They unconsciously subscribe to — and focus on — deteriorating with age. Deprivation grief can be a factor.
Prostate cancer

“Powerless fury” ~ They may harbor suppressed resentment at how they have been restricted by their own life choices, which brought them success and honor, yet not much inner joy.
