Given the 2020 book Polyvaglal Exercises… by Deb Dana, colleague of Stephen Porges; and, a 2014 report of a meeting between Susan Johnson and Michaela Glockler, I think now possible to put all the pieces together.

As Susan suggests in her report, the endgame is not dissection-table-inpired” “stable definition” of the nervous system we can take to bank and make money from. Rather the endgame is how the 12 senses evolve towards maturation; how, they begin humbly and inauspiciously in infancy and childhood.
For example if our nervous system develops in a healthy way, it becomes a healthy Sense of Life in adulthood.
It benefits us to keep this “whole” in mind as we clarify how the “parts” go together.

Our nervous system self is a 3D hologram. It does not lend itself to linear thinking or 2D diagrams. Converging RS and Polyvagal, I believe we can improve on the 2020 diagrams a bit.
Let’s remind everyone, “autonomic nervous system” is completely abstract and…
