If in 2020, you like me, believe a normal year of flu was blown up into a pandemic scare; and then, a flawed then criminally prolonged shutdown of the economy occurred, then The Island may be THE movie of 2020.

Saddled with the most boring, bland movie title imaginable, this fable of child-like sheeple waking up to take responsibility for their own lives could not be more timely for 2020.

Isn’t this the theme of 2020? How many people will wake up, start to connect, cooperate and collaborate; and eventually, take control of local matters? The Isalnd goes as far as a fable can in this direction.

There is literally NO ISLAND in this movie titled “The Island.” The island is an illusion programmed into teh child-like sheeple, the “Ameican dream” of home and security — which turns out to be the end of their life, the harvesting clone organs for the rich urban elite.

If you dislike Michael Bay films, this is before he went wild and destruction-crazy with too much money to spend. This is the more restrained, more story-driven Michael Bay.
